What If?
Many of us already engage with or know about technology such as Virtual Reality which allows you to put on a headset and immerse yourself in a virtual world. But what if you could immerse features from the virtual world into the real world? That is the idea behind AR. You can add virtual and animated models into the real world via apps such as Reality Composer, which is the software created by Apple that is free and allows you to freely engage in creative expression on your mobile devices.

Why did Bethany and friends engage in this process?
I believe I can speak for all that partook in this program that we were engaged by how innovative and new this technology was. It was something that we could be creative with as well as well as something that was further advancing our technology skills. We were putting ourselves well ahead compared to our peers in many bases of technology. Augmented Reality was something that interested me and many others because it is believed to be one of the core technology developments in the future of the world and technology.

Where to from here?
When you engage with AR there are many things you learn from the experience.
- it can be used as a visual tool in HASS, Science, Health or Religion.
- It is even possible to use it in Math or English.
- Students also learn how important it is to be creative as reality composer and AR gives you creative freedom within the task through how you create models and how you program animations.

Thoughts
- Augmented Reality is it a fad? - I think it is very poorly understood
- VR and AR are not the same …. Where’s the world you are in now?
The difference between AR and VR, is that VR immerses us in 3D World but it cuts us off from the real world around us, as we are only seeing content through a headset.
Augmented Reality empowers students to change their real world right in front of them on their on their desks in the classroom, by being able to place objects and scenes in real time and having the ability to interact with this content in innovative dynamic ways. They can see worlds, people, animals, objects and imagine scenes in ways never before possible.
Students can tap into their imagination and endless creativity, by pioneering ideas, through utilising this cutting-edge technology, creating their own worlds or experiencing things not possibly in reality.
