We again thank our Award sponsor Mr Michael Lester and his Team at Catalytic IT for supplying the trophy. Michael and his team are contracted to support our College ICT and it is worth noting that the young man who gave Appleseeds its huge drive and grand success in 2020 Mr Jacob Crook now happens to be a team member of Catalytic IT.

On reflection the student Appleseed Program changed in format in 2021 as new staff and new ideas were introduced into the College. In 2020 the students very much owned the ICT space and worked in the Learning Hub with the then staff. A rapid expansion in ICT Staff and associated duties with the iPad Program meant those opportunities were not as easy to provide.

With the ongoing commitment to staff and student opportunities the Appleseeds formed three main focus groups.

1. The traditional ICT Support and the team oriented structure of digitising College Events;
2. Just Keep Drawing which found a new home in the Junior School inspired by a small select group of Middle School girls;
3. Team AR - another small focus group supported by Michelle Forrest from Winthrop Technologies with very much a  focus on future innovative  technologies.

Thus from a team of Appleseeds we have become a number of different teams not all necessarily involved in similar projects. To select a standout student from differing groups proved to a very challenging task. The students and ICT staff submitted a number of entries for the award and it emerged that a number of students were well credentialed to be considered as worthy winners.

After some deliberation a result was declared where a family were announced as the winners. The individual members of the family have all made a very strong contribution to the ICT Program at the College.

Kendall - a budding photographer who showed her prowess on a many occassions

Bethany - who was the 2020 winner of this award continued to be an outstanding contributor in Appleseed Productions, The AR Team and a general standout leader of the team.

Mr David Forbes - not necessarily known by many of the Appleseeds happens to be the 2021 College Board Chair - Mr Forbes made significant donations of digital resources for the team to use throughout the year and continued to support the maintenance of these items.

Mrs Patricia Forbes - known to a number of junior school students in her work for an outside agency that operates within the College - but definitely the Choir Master who turns the Family Team Forbes into an outstanding unit that have made a great contribution to Appleseed Events.

A special callout to Mr Anthony Damiano and Mr Asiri Godage who continue to give their valuable free time to support our Appleseeds.
